Shanzell currently teaches tap throughout the Flint Community on behalf of the Outreach development for Tapology. She also teaches all levels of Tap, Ballet, Gymnastics, and Competition at Motor City Dance Factory. She encompasses a strong effort to make a positive impact on the advancement of youth.
Her repertoire includes award winning competitive choreography, including teaching and performing freelance throughout the U.S. 

She is one of the founding members of the community led collective of yoga instructors for wellness at the Ferris Wheel Flint. Shanzell recently choreographed socially centered work in her hometown on The Flint Youth Theatre, “The Most Blank City in America”. She choreographs annually with “Mott, Motown, & More” for the benefit of The Mott Foundation, which assists students in their academic pursuits. Over half a decade, she has served as performing artist, teacher, and Outreach pioneer at the Tapology Summer Intensive and Festival. Shanzell serves as a youth advocate fostering creativity, and dance therapist for the Ennis Center for Children (Flint and Detroit), and the Boys & Girls Club of America. She actively teaches, and introduces Tap to many in-school and after school music programs.

A movement artist, and Flint, Michigan native. She is a Music Performance Alumni of Barry University and The University at Buffalo (SUNY) training extensively in Tap, while also studying Piano, Flute, Violin, Contemporary Modern, ballet (Ceccetti), and jazz. Her pedagogy is centered around propiroception to impress the idea that movement should feel good on the body. She continues to push boundaries and find ways to spread the healing art of music and dance throughout the community
